The Brown County Hospital Auxiliary was organized on April 23,1970, when the new Brown County Hospital opened. Membership to the Hospital Auxiliary is open to anyone 18 years and older. Annual dues are $1.00 per year for active members, $5.00 per year for associate members who wish to support the Hospital Auxiliary, but not work. Lifetime membership is $50.00. The Hospital Auxiliary runs a thrift shop at 304 N. Main street. All fund for the Auxiliary come from proceeds from the Thrift Shop and from donations. The Thrift Shop is open Monday thru Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Hospital Auxiliary also sponsors the blood bank and furnishes pink ladies every Friday to help at the hospital. The Thrift shop provides a service to the community by providing a convenient place to donate items, and where the people in the community can purchase needed items at bargain prices. All proceeds from the Thrift Shop are used to buy equipment for the Brown County Hospital. By March 2006 donations totaling over $338,000.00 have been made to Brown County Hospital. |
