Laboratory

Brown County Hospital Laboratory offers a wide array of diagnostic and screening tests.

Since November of 2003, when it purchased the ACE Chemistry Analyzer, it has provided in-house testing of Chemistry Panels including BMP, CMP, Renal, Lipid, & Liver Profiles.

In addition, the laboratory, over the past two years, updated laboratory equipment which include the purchasing of SYSMEX KX21N for Hematology, MEDICA Easylyte for Electrolyte Testing, BAYER Clinitek 50 for urine dipstick automated reading and JEWETT Blood Bank Refrigerator for stock blood units.

It also started using computer for on-line ordering of Laboratory tests to its Reference Laboratory in early Spring of 2004.  

It also serves as Collection Site for Paternity Testing as well as Pre-employment or Random Drug Testing for different local companies.

Rhani T. Resuello – MT(AMT); Licensed Limited Scope Operator; Performs low, moderate, & high-complexity laboratory testing; Performs general x-ray procedures; FULL TIME

Donna Fletcher – Laboratory Aide: Licensed Limited Scope Operator; Performs low and moderate-complexity laboratory testing and performs general x-ray procedures; FULL-TIME

Deborah Lauer – MT (ASCP); Licensed Limited Scope Operator; Performs low, moderate and high-complexity Laboratory testing; Performs general x-ray procedures; PART-TIME

Maurene Propst – MLT; Performs low, moderate, and high-complexity laboratory testing; Also works in Radiology Department; PART-TIME

BLOOD DRIVE 2007

The UBS Blood Drive held at the Elk’s Club on Wednesday,  September 12, 2007 netted seventy one units of blood. Eighty one donors and an impressive ten new donors signed up. The blood drive ran from 10:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the afternoon. The Laboratory Department sponsored the event and once again relied on KBRB Radio Station to promote the event, and several generous individuals who donated their time, money and effort in ensuring the success of the mass blood donation:

·         Regular hospital volunteer Barb Petersen signed in donors as they entered the building.

·         Hospital employees who generously donated juice in cans and bottles, cookies and brownies include Dorothy Rennich, Shannon Sorensen, Rhonda Theis, Rhani Resuello, Donna Fletcher, Deb Lauer, Diette Glenn, Connie Goochey, Mary Bejot, Connie Jackman, Becky Mizner, Lisa Fischer and Rhonda Buechle.

The drive was coordinated by Rhani Resuello, department manager of Brown County Hospital Laboratory and Radiology. Maurene Propst was co-coordinator.
