Shannon Sorensen is very familiar with Brown County Hospital as she had been the director of the rehabilitation services department for over 4 years. She brings enthusiasm and dedication to our teamwork approach, as well as great leadership skills to the facility.
Shannon grew up in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, received her BS in Health Sciences from Chadron State College and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She is involved in a variety of organizations and activities including American Physical Therapy Association, Nebraska Physical Therapy Association, NCIP Leadership Challenge Team, and PEO International, Chapter BM.
Shannon is married to Eric and they have 2 sons, Tatum and Payton. She likes to scrapbook and the entire family enjoys many outdoor activities including camping, fishing and hunting.

Tamara Brown, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing, is in charge of the many Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nurse Aides, who comprise our wonderful nursing staff. Their caring attitude, knowledge and compassion are the mainstay of our facility. They work every day to help you enjoy your own good life. They treat you like family!!

Tammy has 3 children, Jackie, Eric and Chase, and two step-children, Dillon and Blake. She enjoys family time, boating, camping and fishing. The Brown’s are members of the Methodist Church in Ainsworth.

Ken Smith has spent more than 27 years in healthcare finance prior to joining Brown County Hospital on April 1, 2014. His healthcare journey has included nearly 20 years of non-profit and for-profit experience in Maryland. He also has over 7 years of critical access hospital experience in eastern and western North Dakota and was a member of the North Dakota chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Ken grew up on a dairy farm near Valley Springs and in later years near Sherman, South Dakota. He served three years in the United States Marine Corps with part of that service in Vietnam. After military service, he made his way to Washington, D. C. to begin work at the FBI where he stayed for over 8 years. He met his wife Bonnie, originally from western Pennsylvania, at the FBI where she worked as well.
Ken and his wife Bonnie have two children Nancy and Wesley. They have three grandchildren Natalee, Payson, and Lauren. Bonnie is a full-time homemaker. They have been involved in church ministry such as AWANA and special music. Ken and Bonnie enjoy traveling to historical places in the United States.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
Lisa Fischer, RHIT, is the head of the Human Resource Department. Lisa is here to assist employees with employee relations, benefits, payroll and other general policies. She also oversees the Health Information Management department and obtained her Registered Health Information Technology degree in September of 1985
Lisa has been with the Brown County Hospital since August of 1980.

|Mike Kreycik - Chairman|
Mike Kreycik was elected Chairman of the Brown County Hospital Board Jan,2005. Mike has lived in the Ainsworth Community for the past 25 years. He is a long time employee of West Plains Bank of Ainsworth, where he currently holds the position of Senior Vice President and director of the bank.

Mike has served on various boards in the community and is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities of serving on the Brown County Hospital Board.

Ryan Welke was appointed to the board in January 2013.
Ryan is a life long resident of Brown County. He graduated from Ainsworth Community Schools and has pursued his career in ranching. Ryan is currently self employed, ranching in Brown and Cherry counties.
Ryan is a Brown County volunteer firefighter, member of Elks Lodge #1790 and the Sandhills Cattle Association.
Ryan looks forward to serving the community as a member of the Brown County Hospital Board.

Mike Schrad was appointed to the Board in January of 2011. He has been a resident of Ainsworth for the past 23 years. Mike has been a State Farm Agent for 25 years.
Education: Doane College, Bacelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.
Mike is married, his wife's name is Dianah and he has three grown children.
Mike was previously a Hospital Administrator at the Niobrara Valley Hospital in Lynch and the Webster County Hospital in Red Cloud. He is excited about being a member of the Board and looks forward to working with the team and being a part of the Brown County Hospital.

John was appointed to the board Jan 1,2005
John Gross was born at the Brown County Hospital.
Education: University of Nebraska-Curtis, NE
John worked in the oil fields in the Western part of the United States. Since 1984, he has operated the family owned Gross Seed Company. John purchased the family business from his mother in 1986. Gross Seed Company has served the local farmers and ranchers since the mid 1960's.
In the 1990's Gross Seed Company began environmental contracting. Currently serving the Sandhills, with retail and agricultural seeds, as well as environmental contracting.
John is married and has 4 children. His wife Peggy works at the Brown County Court House in the Assessor's office. Children; Sheena of Lincoln, NE, is currently an RN at Bryan LGH. Kelsei and Keanna attend Chadron State College and Taylor attends Ainsworth High School.
John's grandmother, Ruby Jackson, was one of the original RN's at the old Brown County Hospital on North Main Street.
Hobbies: Fishing and riding his motorcycle.

|Ann Fiala - Secretary|
Education: Wayne State College, University of Phoenix
A resident of Brown County for 34 years, Ann has been the Administrator of Ainsworth's assisted living, CottonwoodVilla, since its opening in 2000. She is a volunteer EMT and firefighter with Brown County Ambulance Association and Ainsworth Fire Department since 1998 and has been a member of the State of Nebraska Board of Emergency Medical Services since January 2008. Ann is also a 10 year volunteer on the State of Nebraska Troop B Critical Incident Stress Management team for emergency responders and served perviously as a member of the State Trauma Board for Region I.
Ann is married and has two children.
Ann is looking forward to serving Brown County as a hospital board member and hopes to be an asset to the continued success of Brown County Hospital..
